Technical Seminars

The Alberta Jiu-Jitsu Association works with the best martial artists from around the corner to around the world, bringing our members the best events, tournaments and technical seminars available anywhere.

What are Technical Seminars? The Alberta Jiu-Jitsu Association puts on several technical seminars throughout the year on a cost recovery basis. The member dojo’s take turns hosting the seminar and we draw on the instructors from each dojo to take turns teaching their style or technical information to help students try various arts.  This also provides an opportunity to help improve junior instructors’ teaching abilities.

These seminars are a great way to meet other Jiu-Jitsu students and instructors who love the beautiful art of Jiu-Jitsu. Technicals are a great way for Junior Instructors to show case their skills and give them the practice they need to develop their teaching skills.

Duration The seminars vary from one to two days. The start time is generally 10AM - 5PM the first day and 11AM - 3PM the second day, with lunch breaks provided on each day. There are photo opportunities at the end of each training day.

Certificates & Promotions Certificates are given out for participants at each seminar.  If there were any recent promotions at member dojo’s, the instructors have the opportunity to acknowledge their student and give out their own certificates if desired.
